Resin Sterling Clay Earrings

I decided to play a little more with resin to add a jolt of color to some simple earrings. I started my experiments with my poor bubbled back sterling endeavors.

To get the beautiful aqua color, I mixed a tiny bit of alcohol ink with the Ice resin. Then I added moss agate drops.

To demonstrate the intriguing aspect of the bubble problem during firing, the backs are horribly pocked on the textured backs of the domes, but hardly marked on the smooth windows. Fascinating, no? I know the common suggestions are overheating from kiln temperature spikes, but the localization doesn't seem very consistent with that.
