Torch-Fired Enamels

I'm still ensconced in the rehab hospital, but beginning to have more energy to devote to artistic interests. I had DH round up some images for me from home, so that I could show some variations on torch-fired enamel.

Here's my photo of the domed ring from the Master Muse tutorial, with a matte finish.

Here's a previous version, thinner, with a riveted shank and glossy finish.

The two rings both involved etched copper plus enamel. I also played some with plain enameled copper with more enamel painted on, like in these earrings.

I'm anxious to get home and experiment more, but right now my cast qualifies as a serious fire hazard, so I guess this will have to wait a few more weeks.

  1. I am so happy that you are feeling much better.
Hope that you will recover very soon and show us more of your wonderful work.

A big hug from me to you,

    xxxxoxxxx Manuela

  2. Hang in there! Glad to hear you're improving!

  3. So sorry to read about your accident, I wish you a speedy recovery.

  4. It's just stinko that you are in the hospital injured. It especially rankles because you were out there, being healthy, getting exercise. Like that GUY walking in Central Park this winter that was killed by a falling tree branch.

I hope that you aren't in too much pain. Will you have to be off of your knee for months as with many of the plateau fractures, or did you get lucky and you are already crutching around?

    Thinking of you,
